The Indianola project is a planned community housing development of apartments and townhomes on 22 acres centrally located between Arcata and Eureka, east of the Indianola cutoff and Highway 101. Through a thoughtful design process, incorporating native landscaping, cluster housing, shared open spaces, walking trails, and access to public transportation, the development will provide residents with a community feel and lifestyle.
On September 21, 2022, SNP took the initial steps to begin development of the Indianola community housing project by submitting to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors a request to authorize the County Planning Department staff to begin the planning process for the project. You can download and read the application here. The Board formally approved the application at their November 1, 2022 meeting. SNP will now begin the necessary technical and environmental studies to determine the feasibility of the project.
SNP is committed to a development that is economically sound, environmentally friendly, and supportive of quality community housing. The project will be built in compliance with the CalGreen requirements of the California Building Code and support the smart development already underway in the Humboldt County area. The company will use high-quality sustainable systems and materials, electric energy, and renewable resources, and building with carbon-reducing transportation options in mind.
